Taiwan Expo 2024 in Indonesia

The exhibition, arranged by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), focuses on the theme of "Taiwan and Indonesia collaborating towards a smart and sustainable future." It highlights Taiwan's advancements in science and technology while also facilitating the reconnection of industries from both countries to collaborate post-pandemic. This event serves as a platform for ongoing cooperation between Taiwan and Indonesia, with the goal of creating new opportunities. Hygeia Touch Inc. participated in the exhibition to showcase products alongside their partner, Spectrochip Inc.

According to GLOBOCAN 2020, Indonesia had an estimated 36,633 new cases of cervical cancer and approximately 21,003 deaths from the disease. This high mortality rate highlights the challenges in early detection and effective treatment. The cervical cancer death rate in Indonesia is higher compared to many other countries, particularly those with more established screening and vaccination programs. Efforts to reduce cervical cancer mortality in Indonesia focus on improving early detection through screening programs, increasing HPV vaccination coverage, and enhancing public awareness about cervical cancer prevention and treatment. These measures are crucial to reduce the burden of cervical cancer and improve survival rates among Indonesian women.

Spectrochip Inc.'s chip-based multifunctional micro-spectrometer, combined with Hygeia Touch Inc.'s HPV testing kit for self-collection by women, is boosting cervical cancer screening rates in Indonesia. This innovative approach has garnered interest from numerous doctors, dealers, and the general public, who are impressed by the unique self-screening program for female diseases and are keen to introduce it promptly to improve the health of Indonesian women.
